Alexis (Edible Alchemy) and Jon (Grunewald Foraging) invite you on a day’s exploration of foraging and fermentation, giving you the knowledge to harvest and ferment your own wild food culture creations. Our journey begins in the pleasure garden of Glienicke, where we will get to know and harvest our vital ingredients and celebrate the true beginning of the wild food season in Berlin. Then we head for the city and get back to the lab (Boppstrasse) where Alexis will lead a hands-on workshop taking us through the transformational process of fermentation, how we can use its magic as a tool in our wild food experiments and also its wider implications in the kitchen and in our diets collectively.

We would like to meet just after 11:00am at the bus stop Glienicke Bruecke (line/route 316). You can reach this stop taking the bus from S-Bahnhof Wannsee (down the stairs from the platform, keep to the right, up the escalators.) Please check the website for details on how to get to Glienicke Bruecke on time.

For the foraging walk all you will need is a tote bag or lunch box for your harvested ingredients. Aside from this, please bring drinking water (stay hydrated!) and wear weather-appropriate clothing.

From there we will be travelling back to Boppstrasse 7, 10967 Kreuzberg to Edible Alchemy’s headquarters. Here we will have a feast of sourdough and cultured, fermented foods and drinks and learn some fermentation techniques using some of the plants that we collected during our forage.

Everyone will go home with foraged plants, a custom-ferment, full bellies and minds full of knew skills and knoweldge on foraging and fermentation. Tickets: 60euro +19%MwSt.

The event starts at 11am at the bus stop Glienicke Bruecke and ends around 5pm at Boppstrasse 7, 10967.
