———–event description ————–

Two Mennonite Canadians join forces to exhibit  life-death and new life again. Time-lapse film work of Canadian botanical filmmaker Joel Penner and talk and film on ‘bubbles’ with your bacteria barista in Berlin, Alexis Goertz, co-founder of Edible Alchemy.

Joel Penner is Canadian filmmaker who uses computer scanners to create time-lapses of plants and fungi dying, with the goal of inspiring people to see the unfathomable beauty of everyday existence. This show will feature a short film that explores the impressionistic beauty of the plant kingdom set to the music of the visionary Icelandic band Sigur Rós, as well as ones that delve into the fascinating worlds of mosses, conifers, fungi, and weeds.

Alexis Goertz co-founded Edible Alchemy in Canada in 2013 and brought her bacterial-pets to Berlin to entertain through hands-on education what fermentation, bacteria, yeasts and mould are all about.

The show will be at the Agora Collective on June 10. The Probiotic Bacteria Bar will be open for probiotic cocktails, special probiotic movie snacks! Doors open at 7pm. Suggested donation of 5 euro at the door.
